Tom Turkey doesn’t want to be eaten for Thanksgiving dinner, so the kids were given the assignment to create a disguise for him. But since I was the art teacher, I always demonstrated how easy it was to draw a turkey yourself and then dress him up in disguise. So many awesome and cute ideas for your turkey disguise project. The week of October 9 th I will be reading Not a Box by Antoinette Partis. I will be going into classrooms to read to students: The week of October 2 nd I will be reading, How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food? by Jane Yolen. We will be posting these Tom the Turkey Disguises in the school for all to enjoy them. Think of a disguise that is unique and special. You might want to disguise Tom the Turkey as a superhero, cartoon character, football player or ballerina. You may use items found around the house to create your turkey disguise like fabric, paper scraps, ribbons, tissue paper, craft feathers and crayons. Then, at home families work together to give Tom the Turkey a disguise to keep Tom the Turkey off the Thanksgiving dinner plate. Families will be given a Tom the Turkey template. We will be doing a family project called the Turkey Disguise art project. Week of 11/9-STEAM- Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics At Chesterbrook Academy 710 we have some fun and exciting activities planned for the month of November.
